Golden Badge of Honour for Merit to the Republic of Austria

On 10 May 2007, upon the request of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Dr. Hani Farr was presented with the Golden Badge of Honour for Merit to the Republic of Austria by the President of the Republic of Austria in recognition of his nearly nine years of continuous work on behalf of the Casa Austria-Mexico. The presentation of this great honour took place during an official ceremony in the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs in the presence of Dr. Farr’s family and friends.

In the Laudatio, particular mention was made of the untiring work of Dr. Farr on behalf of the indigenous population in San Isidro/Oaxaca and his exemplary actions were praiWaldgsed.

In his speech, Dr. Farr showed himself deeply moved and thanked those responsible for the presentation of this great honour. He described the situation of the indigenous population in the forest area of Oaxaca, who hardly receive any dental care and showed the development of the Casa Austria-Mexico and one could sense his strong commitment to this project. He really deserved this great honour in recognition of his many years of work!
